I know that this section is called “Book Reviews” and that this isn’t technically a book (but one is included!). I was just so excited when I received my first Singles Swag box on Friday, I decided that I needed to do a review.
When I first heard of Singles Swag, I jumped on the chance to sign up. And, once again, I was a sucker for a “value” and signed up for 6 months. Then I had to wait (which I’m not good at) and it finally showed up on Friday! I quickly opened up my box and started going through it. Below are all of the amazing things that I received.
This is Why You’re Single (book)
The big ticket item is the book This is Why You’re Single by Laura Lane & Angela Spera. This book is a selection of Aesop like dating stories which illustrate dating mistakes that people make. Each story is humorous, but over exaggerated. It also gives an analysis of each scenario and tips on how to overcome each reason why you are still single. While the book is entertaining and does have small nuggets of useful information, I probably wouldn’t have bought it for myself.
Living Royal ‘Break Up’ Socks
I’m not a big sock person, so I wasn’t terribly excited about getting socks, but they are nice. These socks are very comfortable and they are super cute. They don’t come up very high and if I were wearing shoes, you wouldn’t be able to read them. So, I’m not sure when I’m going to wear these, but they are okay.
Soapgirl Grapefruit + Sea Salt
Okay, I’m not a huge fan of grapefruit scent or bars of soap either. I did try this though because I wanted to check everything out. The scent is okay but the exfoliating aspect is the best. It makes you feel really smooth. I was definitely surprised.
NCLA Rose Rock Nail Wraps
The design for these nail wraps looks really cool. I have used nail wraps in the past and I feel that $16 may be a little steep for these. I haven’t actually tried them yet because I haven’t been in the mood to do my nails yet, so I’ll update you once I’ve tried them. I don’t think that I would buy these in the future though.
Me to We Soko Market Bracelet Set
These bracelets are a little small, so I probably won’t be wearing them, but I thought that I might give them to my niece. The idea behind these bracelets though is a cool idea. Each bracelet provides one month of clean water to a child in need and they give you a tracking number so that you can see the impact of your purchase. I like the fact that it’s giving back and I wouldn’t have known about this cause otherwise, so overall I’m glad that this was part of the Singles Swag box.
Ms. Betty’s Original Bad-Ass Body Butter
This stuff smells amazing! I absolutely love it and want to use it all of the time. The texture is non greasy, but still moisturizing, so overall it’s a nice body butter. I think that this paired with the exfoliating soap is going to be a good combination for my skin.
The Crispery Crispycake
Doesn’t this rice crispy treat look amazing? When I first opened up this box, I wanted to eat it immediately, but I was able to control myself and wait. I will say that it was a really good rice crispy treat, but I don’t think that it was that much better than the type you can buy at the store. It was huge, though, 4 servings and it’s only $5, so I think that it’s worth it.
I definitely was excited to receive my Singles Swag box and overall I’m still pleased with it. There were some products that I wouldn’t have bought for myself, but I was also introduced to some neat products. Now, I’m looking forward to my next box to arrive next month.
What do you think of the Singles Swag box? Will you sign up for it?
