The older that I get, I guess the less idealistic I become. When I was younger, I thought that I knew exactly what I wanted in a guy and I had a very specific non-negotiables list. Now, the list isn’t as long and probably more meaningful or at least realistic. Obviously what is important to me may be different than what it is important to you, but I recommend that you create your own non-negotiables list. This allows you to know what you want and not settle for anything less.
I wanted to share with you my list of non-negotiables, because it might put into perspective why some of the misadventures are well, misadventures for me. This is by no means set in stone and I’m sure that as I get older I will continue to change and tweaks to the list might be necessary. But here is what my list currently looks like:
He should be:
- A Christian (bonus points for actively involved in his church)
- Passionate about life (or at least about something and not video games)
- Financially stable (or working on a plan to get that way)
He should have:
- A sense of humor
- Direction in life
He should like:
- Me as I am
- My dog (I’ve heard stories and I would choose my dog over a guy any day)
Do you have a list of Non-negotiables? What is/would be on it?
